Erasers

Salin (pronounced Sah-lean), my mentor here, opened the first day with many notable comments, but here's my fave...she's Turkish, raised in Berlin, living in New York for the past decade, so try to hear it tinged with an eclectic accent:

"This is a drawing class, and I expect you to keep your erasers in their wrappers...if you choose to use them, do so with the understanding that I will read it as fear...you make a 'mistake'? Just keep drawing..."
